During 2013 / 2014 the building was extended and refurbished to form 19 high quality serviced apartments on the upper floors whilst the restaurant at ground and basement levels remained trading throughout the project. We had obtained a planning permission from the City of London in 2012 to demolish the existing fifth and sixth floors and replace these with enlarged new floors, plus an additional seventh. Previously converted to 14 serviced apartments when we purchased the building in 2000 the new scheme took the total up to 19 studio and one-bedroomed serviced apartments. Upon completion of the works the freehold was sold to Aviva Investors for £10.25 million with vacant possession of the apartments and the tenanted restaurant.
