Apprenticeships & Training

“People are at the heart of every thriving company… Apprenticeships are good for business, and good for Britain.” John Longworth, Former – Director General, British Chambers of Commerce

Marldon’s entire strategy for employees on site revolves around apprenticeships and training. We care for our workforce. We believe that caring about people is a good investment, so we continuously invest in our employees and their job satisfaction and ambitions. Our longest employed operative, Brian Langley, trained as an apprentice with our workforce in the 1970s and is now our ‘senior – foreman bricklayer’.

In fact, almost all of our bricklaying team were apprentices with us, as were members of our electrical and our plumbing team. We believe this is the way to retain and expand our skill base, and to promote our employees’ talents and careers. We carry out much of our training in – house and through third parties, ensuring that many of our employees receive official certification during their apprenticeships.

Within Marldon we have a wide range of skilled team members that have received training on site, they include:  Gas Safe engineers and installers, an NICEIC Qualified Supervisor (on our electrical team), certified cavity drainage system installers, 15 tonne excavator drivers, mini-digger drivers, Brokk demolition robot operators, formworkers, tilers, decorators, carpenters, first aiders and trained banksmen.

We operate an open door policy and we are actively looking for apprentices to join our team – all our welcome.
