Maintenance

The Property Maintenance department is run by Colin Bishop, and is under the overall control of John Dunnington-Jefferson. The Maintenance team comprises fully qualified electricians and Gas Safe registered plumbers, senior and experienced carpenters, as well as our own decorating and cleaning staff.

Colin Bishop ensures that all day-to-day maintenance and repair matters that are reported to us are dealt with as efficiently as possible by the correct member of the team, with anything urgent being responded to straight away. There is also a 24-hour emergency callout service so that anything that arises outside of office hours can be responded to accordingly.

Along with day-to-day maintenance, there is a substantial amount of plant and equipment on and within Marldon property that requires regular servicing, testing and certification, often as a statutory requirement. Where possible, the Property Maintenance department carries out the required servicing, testing and certification in-house using its own fully qualified operatives. This includes gas safety testing to all gas producing appliances and periodic NICEIC testing to all our electrical installations.

In the case of specialist plant and equipment – for example, fire alarm systems, passenger lifts and air conditioning systems – the Property Maintenance department oversees high level service agreements with specialist contractors to ensure that all plant is subject to regular inspection and 24-hour callout service in the case of breakdown.

The efficient operation of the Property Maintenance department helps ensure that Marldon buildings are kept in high quality condition, provides excellent service to our tenants and ensures that it is always fully compliant with all necessary health and safety legislation, for the benefit and peace of mind of both ourselves as property owners and, more importantly, the tenants and the leaseholders who occupy our buildings.
